As the grandchild of a high ranking official of the 81st t f w. I was told the theory of a stealth aircraft in development . This aircraft was to be powered by electromagnetic coils thus giving off the bright glow . It was also triangular / delta in shape with vertical lift and a cockpit sat high above the vertical lift van , giving the impression of a triangular / pyramid like shape. The experimental vehicle was kept in a hangar supposedly towards east gate near the forest edge and could take of vertically with no taxi way needed thus creating the impression of it lifting from the forest.
